The Singapore dollar and most Asian currencies strengthen against the U.S. dollar on hopes for trade negotiations. Market focus is shifting toward possible trade talks, which could offer some respite for currencies today, DBS Group Research's Philip Wee says in a commentary. President Trump has agreed to start trade talks with Japan following his phone call with Japan's Prime Minister Ishiba, the senior FX strategist notes. USD/SGD falls 0.3% to 1.3490, USD/PHP drops 0.3% to 57.21, while AUD/USD rises 0.6% to 0.6025, according to FactSet data. ([email protected])
