PrivatBank (Ukrainian :ПриватБанк) Is The Largest Local Bank In Ukraine In Terms Of Number Of Customers, Assets, And Stock Loans. Unlike Most Large Ukrainian Banks, PrivatBank Is Headquartered In Dnipro, Not In Kiev.

According To A Banking Market Study Conducted By GfK, One Third (33.2%) Of Respondents Enjoy PrivatBank Services, While A Quarter (24.9%) Enjoy A Wide Range Of Services And Consider PrivatBank Their Main Bank. As Of February 1, 2011, 2.40 Million Retirees Enjoy PrivatBank Services, 3.40 Million Receive Salaries Through PrivatBank Cards, And 1 Million Students Receive Scholarships Through PrivatBank Cards. The Bank's Infrastructure In Ukraine Includes 6,975 ATMs, 2,228 Self-service End Points, 35,486 Sales End Points, 3,202 Branches And Branches. On Average, PrivatBank Provides Various Services To 150 Customers Per Day. PrivatBank's International Service Network Includes MoskomPrivatBank (Russia), AS PrivatBank (Latvia), AS PrivatBank (Portugal) And TaoPrivatBank (Georgia) Partner Banks. History

PrivatBank Was One Of The First Private Commercial Banks Established In Ukraine. In 1992, PrivatBank Was Established By A Resolution Of The Founders' Meeting.

PrivatBank Started With An Office And Several Computers. The First Chairperson Was Sergei Tigipko. It Was The Dnipropetrovsk Bank That Started Using Bank Cards And ATMs In Ukraine. In Addition, PrivatBank Was The First Ukrainian Financial Institution Group To Be Awarded An International Rating.

On March 19, 1992, PrivatBank Was Registered With The State. Sergei Tigipko Was One Of The Founders And The First Chairperson Of The Board Of Directors. In The Beginning, PrivatBank Had Only One Office And Several Computers. PrivatBank Was The First Bank In Ukraine To Introduce Plastic Cards And ATMs.

In 1996, It Became A Full Member Of The VISA International Global Payment System And Began Issuing Bank Cards In Large Numbers.

In 1997, PrivatBank Was Rated By Thomson BankWatch International Rating Agency And Became A Full Member Of The Europay Payment System.

In 1998, It Was Rated By Fitch IBCA International Rating Agency. In November 1998, After Inviting Tenders, It Was Appointed To Pay The Swiss Nazi Victims Compensation Fund In Ukraine.

In 1999, PrivatBank Established An International Financial Business Branch In Cyprus. The Branch Established In Nicosia Became The First Foreign Ukrainian Bank Branch.

In 2000, Was Appointed To Pay Compensation To Ukrainian Citizens Persecuted By The Nazis During The Second World War. On July 6, 2000, PrivatBank Was Restructured From A Limited Company Into A Closed Joint-stock Company. Therefore, On September 4, 2000, PrivatBank Commercial Bank Closed Joint-stock Company Articles Of Association Were Registered.

In 2001, The Launch Of The Privat24 Project Became A Major Event In The Ukrainian Banking System. Privat24 Allows Mass Customers To Perform Account Management, Transfers, And Other Operations Online.

In February 2002, PrivatBank Issued Its Millionth Bank Card. In April 2002, PrivatBank Representatives Were Elected To The Board Of Directors Of VISA CEMEA.

In 2003, PrivatBank Was Named The Best Bank In Terms Of Client Server By Western Union. In That Year, It Received The "STP Excellence Award" From Deutsche Bank. PrivatBank Was The First Ukrainian Bank To Issue Eurobonds Worth $100 Million. In Addition, PrivatBank Received Standard & Poor's "B-" Rating For The First Time In Ukraine. PrivatBank's Eurobonds Were Awarded A Long-term Rating Of B - By Fitch International Rating Agency.

On April 30, 2009, The Shareholders' Meeting Decided To Amend The Bank's Charter In Accordance With The Ukrainian Law On Joint-stock Companies. The Joint-stock Company Form Was Restructured From Closed To Open, And The Name Of The Bank Was Changed To PrivatBank Commercial Bank Open Joint Stock Company. These Changes Took Effect On July 21, 2009.
