It Has Officially Become BUKU IV Bank After Receiving Confirmation From The Financial Services Authority (OJK) On January 20, 2021. It Serves Nearly 4 Million Customers In 62 Cities In Indonesia With 304 Branches And 2 Mobile Branches. Currently, The Bank Is Headed By Meliza Musa Rusli As CEO.
History
Permata Bank Was Formed By The Merger Of Five Banks Managed By The Indonesian Banking Restructuring Authority (IBRA), Which Are:
- PT Bank Bali Tbk - Established In 1954 At The Center Of A Corruption Scandal;
- PT Bank Universal Tbk;
- PT Bank Prima Express;
- PT Bank Artamedia; And
- PT Bank Patriot.
In Accordance With Decree No. 4/159/KEP Of The Deputy Governor Of Bank Indonesia. In DpG/2002 Dated September 30, 2002, Bank Indonesia Approved The Merger Of Four Banks Managed By IBRA Into Bank Bali. In Addition, In Accordance With Letter No. 4/162/KEP Of The Deputy Governor Of Bank Indonesia. In DpG/2002 Dated October 18, 2002, Bank Indonesia Agreed To Change The Name Of PT Bank Bali Tbk To PT Bank Permata Tbk. The Operational Consolidation Of Bank Artamedia Was Completed On October 21, 2002, While The Mergers Of Bank Prima Express, Bank Universal, Bank Patriot And Bank Universal Were Completed On November 4, 2002, November 18, 2002 And December 16, 2002. Respectively. The Logo Of Permata Bank Was Unveiled On February 18, 2003, Following The Completion Of The Merger Process. The Permata Bank Logo Consists Of Three Colors, Namely Blue, Red And Green. Blue Represents Eternity, Red Represents Passion And Green Represents Prosperity.
The Merger Of These Five Banks Is The Implementation Of The Government's Decision On The Advanced Restructuring Plan Issued On November 22, 2001, Which Aims To Form A Bank With A Strong Capital Structure, Sound Financial Position, Highly Competitive In Performing Intermediary Functions, And With A Network Of Services. A Wider Scope And A Wider Range Of Products.
In 2004, Standard Chartered And PT Astra International Tbk Acquired Permata Bank And Began A Large-scale Transformation Process Within The Organization. Furthermore, As A Manifestation Of Its Commitment To PermataBank, The Joint Ownership Of The Major Shareholders Increased To 89.01% In 2006.
Permata Bank Has Been Granted A Commercial Banking License Pursuant To Minister Of Finance Decree No. 19371/U.M. II Dated February 19, 1957.
Strategic Investments In Bangkok Bank
On December 13, 2019, Bangkok Bank, One Of Thailand's Largest Financial Conglomerates, Announced Plans To Acquire A Majority Stake In Permata Bank Through A Conditional Sale And Purchase Agreement With Astra International And Standard Chartered. After A Long Process, PermataBank's Acquisition Transaction In May 2020 Through The Joint Stock Company Of Bangkok Bank ("Bangkok Bank") Made New History. Bangkok Bank Acquired 89.12% Of The Total Issued And Paid-up Shares Of Standard Chartered And Astra International For 33.66 Trillion Indonesian Rupiah (US $2.30 Billion), Officially Becoming The Controlling Shareholder Of PermataBank. [1] On September 27, 2024, Permata Bank Officially Adopted The Logo Of Bangkok Bank As The New Logo.
