Vertex is a cross-margin decentralized exchange (DEX) protocol that provides spot, perpetual contracts, and an integrated currency marketplace, bundled into a vertically integrated application on Arbitrum.
Powered by a hybrid unified central limit order book (CLOB) and integrated automated market maker (AMM), Vertex's liquidity is enhanced as positions in the paired LP market fill the order book. Gas fees and MEV on Vertex are minimized due to the bulk trading and optimistic aggregation model of the underlying Arbitrum Layer 2 (L2), and Vertex's smart contracts control the risk engine and core product.
Vertex is non-custodial, meaning that users always retain control of their on-chain assets. Vertex has extremely low latency for transactions and efficient liquidity utilization across a wider range of DeFi assets, a by-product of its Hybrid Order Book-AMM design. The off-chain sorter architecture also helps minimize the miner extractable value (MEV) feature of Ethereum L1, while enabling lightning-fast transactions.
