Far Eastern International Bank Co., Ltd., Referred To As Far Eastern Bank Or FEIB, Is A Commercial Bank In Taiwan And Belongs To The Company Of Far Eastern Group. After The Ministry Of Finance Of The Republic Of China Opened Up Private Banks In 1989, Far Eastern Group Established The "Far Eastern International Bank Preparatory Group" And Began To Establish Banks.

Far Eastern International Bank Started Business On April 11, 1992 With An Initial Capital Of NT $10 Billion. The Main Shareholders Include: Far Eastern Textile, Oriental Union Chemical, Asia Cement, Lealea Enterprise, Far Eastern Department Stores, Fuchang Textile, San Fu Chemical, Taiwan Wacoal, King Car Company And Great Distribution Department Stores.

The Shares Of Far Eastern International Bank Were Listed On The Taiwan Stock Exchange On November 27, 1998 And Listed On The Stock Exchange Of Taiwan On November 14, 1995.

On July 1, 2009, Far Eastern International Bank Purchased The Credit Card And Accounts Receivable Assets Of AIG Credit Card Co., (Taiwan) Limited At A Price Of NT $2.30 Billion To NT $3 Billion.

On April 3, 2010, Far Eastern International Bank Acquired The Assets, Liabilities And Operations Of 19 Domestic Branches Of Kuo Feng Commercial Bank Auctioned By Central Deposit Insurance Corporation For NT $19.103 Billion, Increasing The Number Of Branches Of Far Eastern Bank From 36 To 55.

On December 14, 2011, Far Eastern International Bank Bought The Entire Equity Of ING Antai Securities For NT $300 Million; ING Antai Securities Changed Its Name To Yuan Zhi Securities On February 22, 2012.

On October 3, 2017, The FEIB SWIFT (Global Interbank Financial Telecommunication Network) System Was Implanted By Hackers With Malicious Programs, Obtained Transfer Vouchers, And Sent A Remittance Notice To The Trusted Bank, Intending To Transfer More Than 60 Million US Dollars To The Hacker's Designated Bank Account Through The Intermediary Bank, Mainly To Cambodia, Sri Lanka, And The United States. According To The Latest Investigation Released By The US Security Company FireEye, The North Korean Hacking Organization APT38 Is Behind The Scenes.
